Farewell to Freedom
~ A New Day Western Genre' ~
Written from a Woman's Point of View.

New Cover for Farewell to Freedom.
Same story:

Farewell to Freedom is a new day western genre written from a female’s point of view. The prize winning story is  based on Anita Waggoner’s true life experiences. The main characters are Cheyenne Stevens and Rowdy Harrison. In Farewell to Freedom, a heartbroken divorcee’ seeks love in a small country town. She’s naïve, and helplessly unaware, that the hasty decision to move to Freedom may potentially destroy her.

Cheyenne flees to Las Vegas to escape the heartbreak of a failing marriage. While there, during the National Finals Rodeo, she meets a cowboy named Rowdy Harrison from Freedom, Oklahoma. A long term love affair ensues and Cheyenne agrees to move to Freedom. Their love affair quickly becomes a business relationship. Cheyenne gives up a life of luxury to live with Rowdy on his run-down ranch. Cheyenne buys into Rowdy's bucking bull business and becomes a female stock contractor for the PBR. She initially believes that living life on a ranch with a cowboy will take her back in time to a childhood place where she'd once been her happiest. However, the daily struggles of life in the country take a toll, and Cheyenne's escape to Freedom becomes far more than she's bargained for. Cheyenne becomes a strong-willed, modern day cowgirl who proves she can survive in the tough man's world. Her patience is tried over and over again by Rowdy, and his scoundrel friends, who constantly seek to take advantage. Has Cheyenne made a mistake by leaving her perfect world to start a new life with a cowboy in Freedom, Oklahoma?

Farewell to Freedom was originally published by Strategic Publishing and released in December 2010. A revised version  and new cover, was self-published and  released in 2014. I released Charleston Cheat and The Ranch at Coyote Springs the summer of 2012. My collection of short stories are available at http://www.amazines.com . My screenplay Farewell to Freedom was a preliminary finalist in the 2014 Creative World Awards Screenplay Competition. Farewell to Freedom is a true story. It's about real life experiences while living on my guest ranch in Oklahoma. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Having been called a maverick by those who know me well, I've proven time after time that I can survive in a tough man's world. A strong, independent woman, I've accomplished much in life by simply using good judgment. Hopefully, the stories I tell will, in some way, help readers overcome the hurdles and disappointments in their own lives. Integrity, character and tenacity are paramount. Originally from a small town in Washington state, I now reside in Paradise Valley, Arizona. I've enjoyed story telling from a very young age.

My writing has received five star reviews on Amazon.com. Farewell to Freedom won an award for Best Fiction in the 2011 National Indie Excellence Book Awards contest. I was named a winner in the 2011 Author Show contest "50 Great Authors You Should Be Reading". The screenplay Farewell to Freedom was a preliminary finalist in the 2014 Creative World Awards Screenplay Competition and was performed by live actors at the Wildhorse Film Festival in Toronto, Canada in 2015.

Adult men and women alike will enjoy reading the modern day western stories I write uniquely from a woman's point of view. I'm presently working on another western I call Dakota Wells, a story about the women who lived and loved on a ranch in a small West Texas town. My novel Small Town Girls is also in production. Presently, there are no definite release dates in mind for my latest works, but I promise, one day I'll get'em dun'.
